According to a report from 1650, the convent was built in 1595, included in the Perugian Congregation known as Santa Maria del Popolo. The church was initially dedicated to Santa Maria delle Grazie. It features a stone portal bearing at the top the coat of arms of the Augustinian order. Now the church is dedicated to San Nicola da Tolentino. The interior has a single nave with side chapels, with altars rich in stucco decorations. Above the main altar is a painting depicting the Madonna with Jesus. In 1820, after the Murat suppressions, it had under its jurisdiction the Convent of Chieti, considered its grange.
On the counter-façade, placed in the choir loft, is a splendid organ built in 1830 by Quirico Gennari, decorated with pilasters, gilding, and floral motifs. With the "Royal Decree" of February 17, 1861, some communities and religious orders were suppressed, while in 1866 their patrimonial capacity was removed. On March 17, 1868, the deed of transfer of the Church of the former Augustinians to the state property was signed, with the obligation to keep it open for the devotion and worship of the people of San Valentino. On the façade, at the top, is the image of San Nicola, made in 1939 on ceramic tiles by Rinaldo Pardi (1898-1945) of Castelli.
